NSO Class 8 Syllabus

Every year, the National Science Olympiad examination is conducted by the Science Olympiad Foundation. This NSO assessment is primarily oriented toward science topics. Students in grades 1 to12 are permitted to take the exam. This exam serves in the detection and development of future scientists, technologists, and IT specialists, commencing with education at the primary level. Highlights of the Exam

The National Science Olympiad Exam(NSO) is a scholarship exam that aims to improve scientific reasoning and analytical skills. The examination is split into two tiers. The first would be level 1, and students who pass this level will be eligible to take the level 2 exam. The NSO olympiad test has two stages, which commence from grade 3. Only level 1 examinations will be held for the students in Classes 1 and 2, and marks will be awarded based on their performance.

The test is an objective assessment with 35 multiple-choice questions for grades 1 through 4 and 50 multiple-choice questions for grades 5 through 12. To take the second level of the NSO examination, a student must come in the top 5% of their class.

Examination Pattern

The examination for grade 8 is an objective test with 50 multiple-choice questions. The exam is divided into three main sections.

  • Section 1’s problems are based on Logical Reasoning
  • Section 2 has Science-based questions.
  • Section 3 is referred to as the Achievers segment.

Syllabus for Class 8

The NSO Class 8 syllabus is based on the general curriculum that a student takes in grade 8. Students from any academic board can read the syllabus from the prescribed academic curriculum, including CBSE, ICSE, and other state boards. The exam’s syllabus and ideas are based on the eighth-grade curriculum.
