HP Police Constable Exam 2023

The HP Police Constable exam is conducted in various stages. The marking scheme and the various stages of the exam are given in the table below.

Exam Pattern of the HP Police Constable Written Examination 2023

Written Test

The written exam comprises multiple choice questions (MCQs). The question paper carries 80 marks (total) with 1 mark for each question. The duration of the written exam is 60 minutes. The exam pattern of the test is given in the table below.

Physical Standard Test (PST)

Physical Standard Test (PST) is a screening test. Candidates need to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria as mentioned in the notification.  The test will be conducted at every district headquarter in the State. The PST is videographed and the schedule for the test is notified on the official website. Physical standards on the basis of which candidates are evaluated are given in the table below.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Candidates who clear the Physical Standard Test (PST) have to go through the Physical Efficiency Test. Physical Efficiency Test is of qualifying nature. The minimum qualifying standards and events that take place during PET are given in the table below.

Document Verification and Award of Marks for Certificates

Candidates have to produce all the required documents as listed in the notification for verification. Candidates are also awarded marks (maximum marks-15) based on various criteria i.e. educational qualifications, participation in NCC or NSS, international, national or state level sports etc.

After completion of the document verification process, candidates have to go through a medical examination. This is followed by verification of character and antecedents of candidates by the concerned district police.
