Ministry of Home Affairs invites online applications from Indian Nationals for direct recruitment to the post of Assistant Central Intelligence Officer, Grade-II/ Executive i.e. ACIO-II/Exe in IB. The official notification for the same is expected soon. Candidates preparing for the examination must be aware of its exam pattern. IB ACIO Exam Pattern 2022
The selection process of the Intelligence Bureau ACIO 2022 exam is divided into three phases. They are
- Tier-I (online mode)
- Tier-2 (Descriptive type)
- Tier-III (Interview)
IB ACIO Tier 1 Exam Pattern
The Tier 1 exam of IB ACIO is conducted only in online mode. The exam consists of 5 parts/subjects and 100 objective questions. The 5 parts of the examination are General Awareness, Quantitative aptitude, Numerical/analytical/logical ability & reasoning, English language & General studies. Each question carries 1 mark and there is a negative marking of ¼ mark for each wrong answer. The exam pattern of tier 1 is given below

On the basis of their performance & normalization of marks in Tier-I exam, candidates would be shortlisted for Tier-II exam at 10 times the number of vacancies, subject to the candidate scoring the minimum cut-off.
IB ACIO Tier 2 Exam Pattern
The Tier 2 of IB ACIO is a descriptive paper. It is conducted for a total of 50 marks. It consists of an Essay that carries a weightage of 30 marks and English comprehension & précis writing with a weightage of 20 marks. The examination is conducted for 1 hour. The exam pattern of IB ACIO Tier 2 is given in the table below

On the basis of their combined performance in Tier-I and Tier-II, the candidates would be shortlisted for the Tier-III/Interview @ 5 times the number of vacancies subject to the condition that the candidate secures minimum 33% marks (17 out of 50) in Tier-II exam.
The candidates who clear Tier 1 and Tier 2 of IB ACIO will be summoned for the interview that is conducted for 100 marks. Candidates appearing in interviews may be subject to the Psychometric/Aptitude Test which will be a part of the interview.
Based on the combined performance in Tier-I, Tier-II and TierIII/Interview, the candidates would be shortlisted for final selection subject to their Character and Antecedent verification followed by medical examination, etc
