The Life Insurance Corporation of India conducts the exam for AAO at National level, and aspirants across the country can apply for the post. The exam for Assistant Administrative Officer is held for various specializations, and each has a different job profile.

  2. Aspirants must go through the prescribed eligibility criteria before applying for any post.
  3. There is relaxation for a few criteria for different categories and candidates must apply accordingly.
  4. Only one form is applicable for each candidate. Hence, no mistakes must be made in filling in the application form.
  5. Candidates have to upload a photograph, signature, thumb impression and a hand written-declaration.

Candidates need to upload their left thumb impression on white paper with blue or black ink. It should not be smudged.

Candidates need to upload a handwritten declaration with their signature mentioning:

“I, _______ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.”


Candidates need to upload a colored photograph. Size of the uploaded image should be between 20kb – 50kb.


Candidates need to upload their signature signed with black ink on a white paper. The scanned image of the signature should not exceed 20kb and should be less than 10kb.

  1. The final step is the payment of fees. Once the fees are paid, the application procedure is complete. Candidates can only pay for the application form through online mode.

Aspirants willing to join LIC need to fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned in the official notification. The eligibility criteria for applying to LIC AAO is as mentioned below:

  1. Age Limits: Age of the candidate must not be less than 21 years and should not exceed 30 years.
  2. Educational Qualifications: Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in any disciple for AAO Generalist category. For other specializations, the candidate must be a graduate in that respective field.

LIC AAO 2019: Exam Pattern and Syllabus

The exam pattern for LIC AAO until the last addition of recruitment conducted in 2016 was different from 2019. Earlier, there was only one written exam and an interview. The notification for 2019 displayed a new pattern for LIC AAO exam. The exam is now conducted in three stages:

  1. The Preliminary Exam
  2. The Mains Exam
  3. Interview

The preliminary exam is the same for all specializations in LIC AAO recruitment. There is a slight change in the exam pattern for mains exams for different specializations.

Probation Period: Candidates should note that is probation of one year. This probation period may increase to two years as per the decision of LIC. Before joining as probationer, the selected candidate needs to sign a bond to serve the company for a minimum of four years. If the candidates fail to do so, he/ she may be liable to pay a sum of Rs. 2,00,000 to LIC.
