A collision took place between a passenger train and a goods train on the 14th of March, 2022, at 8:30 p.m. in Jammu. The local people rushed to the site and carried out the primary rescue operations. The GRPF and the local authorities were informed about the accident. The State Railway Minister announced that the families of the deceased would be given 10 Lakhs and a government job, and the families of the injured people would be given 5 Lakhs each. The Minister assured that a high-level investigation committee would be formed to look into the matter.
