IIM Cut off refers to the minimum score or percentile which a candidate must secure to get shortlisted by the top IIMs for the next round of the selection process and eventually get a seat in a top MBA college. For pursuing a management programme from one of the IIMs or a top B-School accepting CAT scores, it is of utmost importance to know the IIM Cutoff. Having a clear idea about the IIM cutoffs will help the candidates a lot in their CAT preparation. So, CAT aspirants should have a detailed idea about the previous IIM cutoffs of the CAT exam.
To give you a clear idea, here is an example of how the percentile system works –
Let’s say there were 10 students who gave an exam, including you.
- If you ranked 1st, then there are 9 students behind you, or 90% of the test-takers are ranked after you. This means that you have a 90%tile score.
- If you stood 3rd, then there are 7 test-takers ranked after you. You will have a 70%tile score in this case.
Following are the IIM cutoffs of 2014 and 2015 for the top three IIMs of the country.
