Common Admission Test (CAT) result is expected to be out soon, as per IIM Bangalore officials, although various sources are claiming different dates for CAT results declaration.
CAT Results 2016
Attended by more than 2 Lakh candidates, the CAT Exam was conducted on December 4, 2016, on 138 cities across the country, for various MBA and PG programmes. Once declared, the CAT 2016 result scores will be available in the official CAT IIM Website (iimcat.ac.in).
Aspirants, who will clear CAT 2016 successfully, will be eligible for admission towards 20 different IIMs in India.
Last year, CAT results were out on January 8. This is another reason why CAT result is expected to be declared on or after January 9. In 2016, total 2, 32,434 aspirants wrote CAT exam in pursuit of MBA.
If you are also one of them and is awaiting results as well then dates is not something you should worry about. What you must strategize is – ‘How you’ll make it through to crack a seat in your favorite IIM.’
For admission towards PGP-PGDM (2017-19), the candidates will be selected on the basis of their capability in –
- Written Ability Test (WAT)
- Group Discussion (GD)
- Personal Interviews (PI)
The selected candidates will be eligible to opt for the following courses –
- Post Graduate Programme in Public Policy and Management
- Post Graduate Programme in Management
- Post-Graduate Programme in Food and Agribusiness Management
- Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management
- Post Graduate Programme in Securities Markets
Even though a valid and good CAT score is an important criterion in the entire admission process, but some factors can become a boon for you to get into IIM like – good performance in an academic career, duration, and quality of their relevant work experience, etc.
The admission process, academic cut-offs, and the weights allocated to the evaluation parameters will vary across all IIMs.
The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in CAT, GMAT, GRE test, their prior academic performance, and duration of work experience. It’s a must for the Candidates to produce letters of approval from their corporate employers stating that they are permitted to pursue the Management Program.
In the PI round, the preparedness of the candidate for the management education will be analyzed. The interviews will be conducted in the respected IIMs. If a candidate is unable to attend the interview on the specified date, they can opt for an interview over video conference. Any such requests must be made to the institute at least 15 days prior to the scheduled interview date.
In the eligibility verification stage, the candidates need to submit attested copies of –
1) Academic mark sheets and degree certificate.
2) SC, ST, NC-OBC and PWD certificates, (if applicable) and
3) Original certificate from Principal, Registrar, Director of the University, if the candidate is in their final year of graduation.
