The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection has announced the IBPS SO exam date for the 2019-20 examination cycle. The recruitment of specialist officers such as IBPS SO I.T Officers, Law Officers and Agricultural Officers will be conducted through this exam. The official notification has not been released yet, though the exam calendar has been released in April 2019.
IBPS SO 2019 Preliminary Exam Date
The preliminary exam for IBPS specialist officers is held in the months of November and December every year. The exam date of IBPS SO 2019 is in the last week of December as per the following schedule:
IBPS SO Prelims Exam:
- Phase I – 28 December 2019
- Phase II – 29 December 2019
The examination is to be conducted in two phases due to a large number of candidates who are expected to appear in the exam. The IBPS notification for this exam will be published in October – November 2019.
IBPS SO 2019 Main Exam Date
The IBPS specialist officers main exam is normally conducted in January every year. The examination cycle of 2019-20 will also follow the same schedule with the IBPS SO main exam date scheduled on 25 January 2020. Only those candidates who score more than the Prelims cut off will be eligible to appear in the exam.
IBPS SO Interview Date
The IBPS SO Interview will be conducted for those candidates who are able to score above the IBPS cut off in the main examination. The download of call letters will start with the declaration of the IBPS result in February 2020. The interviews will be conducted in February and March 2020, with successful candidates being allotted their preferred banks in April 2020. The following is the tentative schedule for the IBPS interview:
- Declaration of IBPS Result and download of interview call letter: First Week of February 2020
- IBPS Interview: Third Week of February 2020 till First Week of March 2020
- Declaration of IBPS SO merit list and provisional allotment: April 2020
The IBPS exam dates are published well in advance by the Institute. Candidates should start their preparation early to have enough time for revision at least a month before the exam. Preparation should take into account the differences in the syllabus for prelims and mains. College level textbooks in the respective fields are a must for the specialist officers examination.
