Both of these are leading American Multinational tech-based companies in the Tech and IT sector, but there is a fundamental difference between them. Google basically focuses more on the Internet services, while Microsoft much more on the development of computer software along with PCs (Personal Computers). They are very established and worldwide known companies. Almost everyone knows about these companies, but it may not be clear what they do.

They have their own set of services and products- that they might have developed themselves or acquired from other companies. In this article, we will look into the difference between Google and Microsoft in a tabular form. But let us first know a bit more about both of these individually.

What is Google?

Sergey Brin and Larry Page finally found Google in 1988. They made it a part of their project when they were pursuing a Ph.D. at Stanford University. They then bought PageRank. It was a new system that ranked all the present pages according to their importance in the websites and also by analyzing all the sites that created a link back to the website. Due to this system, the Search Engine they created happened to stand out from the rest in the market.

Google Search, Google Adwords, Google Chrome, Groups, Google News, Google Finance, Android, YouTube, etc., are some of the products offered by Google.

What is Microsoft?
