IAS Preparation - Environment and Ecology: Ecosystems

This lecture brings out the differences between terms such as ‘Habitat’ and ‘Niche’ in a lucid and crisp manner. Further, the structure of an ecosystem is discussed. Understanding components of an ecosystem, and their characteristics is extremely important and lays a sound base for further study into the subject which has now become part of the mainstream of subjects in civil service examinations. An analysis of previous years question papers reveals the ever-growing importance attached to ‘Environment and Ecology’ by the UPSC.
