There are several laws relating to labour regulation in India. Labour in India is a subject in the concurrent list and so both the centre and the state governments have jurisdiction over labour matters. The law in India aims to offer a high degree of protection to workers, but in reality, only a minority of workers are covered. The articles of the constitution that cover labour laws are 14, 15, 16, 19(1)(c), 23, 24, 38, 41, 42, 43-A. Article 23 is related to child labour.
