STATE EXECUTIVE

The state legislature consists of the Governor and one or two houses. The constitution provides that in each state there shall be a Legislative Council or Vidhan Parishads existing under Article 168 of the Constitution. The executive power of the State shall be vested in the Governor and shall be exercised by him either directly or through officers subordinate to him in accordance with this Constitution.
