The Union Public Service Commission has released the answer keys to the 2016 UPSC civil services prelims exam. With the official answer keys, candidates can check how they fared and understand the results better.
Some statistics about 2016 UPSC civil services:
A total of 11,35,943 applications were received by the UPSC for the IAS prelims 2016 exam. Out of this number, 4,59,659 people actually took the prelims 2016. Only 3.7% of the number who took the prelims exam qualified to sit for the 2016 UPSC civil services mains exam. This comes to 15452 people. Out of this number, only 2961 candidates were qualified for the personality test/board interview. Finally, 1099 candidates were recommended for appointment to services with 220 in the waiting list.
