Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MH CET) is conducted for admission into various Engineering and Technology programmes (BE/ BTech) and Pharmacy programmes (B Pharma/ Pharm D) in the state of Maharashtra. 

Frequently Asked Questions on MHT CET

Q1: What is MHT-CET?

Answer: Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET or MHCET) 2023 is a state-level test conducted by State Common Entrance Test Cell, Mumbai for admission to B.Tech/B.E., B.Pharm and Pharm D in the state of Maharashtra. 

Q2: What is the mode of examination?

Answer:  The examination will be conducted by online mode for PCM and PCB group separately. The examination is held at various centres across Maharashtra and outside the state of Maharashtra.

Q3: Is there negative marking for wrong answers?

Answer: No, there will be no negative marking

Q4: What are the types of questions asked?

Answer:  The questions are multiple-choice questions (MCQ) having 4 options. The candidates must pick the correct answer from the options given.

Q5: What is the duration of the examination?

Answer: Mathematics – 90 minutes

Physics & Chemistry – 90 minutes

Biology (Botany & Zoology) – 90 minutes

Q6: From where will I get the application form?

Answer: The application form will be available only in online mode on the official website.

Q7: What are the steps to fill the form?

Answer: The Online Application Submission is a four-step process:  

Registration – Creation of Username and Password  

Filling up Application Form for MHT-CET 2023 – Fill the personal details and educational details on the application form.

Upload of Photograph and Signature – Candidates must upload their recent photograph and signature with the specified format and file size.

Payment of Fees – Candidate can make payment of fees using online payment mode only. 

Q8: What should be the size and format of the uploaded photo?

Answer:  The file size of the photograph should be between 15 KB and 50 KB and signature should be between 5 KB and 20 KB per file. The photograph and signature must be in .jpg format.

Q9: What is the fee for the application form?

Answer: If the candidate opted for only PCM or only PCB in General Category, he/ she will have to pay Rs.800/- and for Reserve Category candidate from the State of Maharashtra he/ she will have to pay Rs.600/- as an MHT-CET 2023 examination fee. If the candidate opted for both the groups, i.e. PCM and PCB then for General Category, he/ she will have to pay Rs.1600/- and for Reserve Category candidate from the State of Maharashtra, he/ she will have to pay Rs.1200/- as an MHT-CET 2023 examination fee. 

Q10: Will I receive a hard copy of the admit card?

Answer: The candidates must download and take a printout of the admit card from the official website.

Q11: On which subjects should I take up the examination if I want to apply for 1st-year Pharmacy courses?

Answer: It is mandatory that the candidate must appear for Physics, Chemistry and/or Biology.
