The human skull comprises 22 bones, divided into two sets called the cranial and facial bones. There are 14 facial bones and 8 cranial bones. The nasal bones, the zygomatic bones, the maxillae, the mandible, the palatine bones, the lacrimal bones, the inferior nasal conchae, and the vomer comprise the facial bones. All facial bones are paired together except for the mandible and vomer.
