(a) Mimosa pudica

(b) Allium cepa

(c) Sorghum

(d) None of the above

The correct answer to this question is option (a). Mimosa pudica

Pulvinate, or a swollen leaf base, is an organ that is found in leguminous plants in the Fabaceae family. It helps in periodic leaf movement with the help of asymmetric swelling and contraction of the pulvinus. This is because it has thick-walled water-conducting tissue of vascular bundle, and it is surrounded by motor cells.

It is also responsible for determining the changing direction of the plant as per the Sun because of the presence of photoreceptors in them. These are autonomous organs and induce movement even when they are detached from the leaves or the stem. Pulvinate leaves can be observed in mango leaves and other leguminous plants, including Mimosa pudica, Enterobium, Arachis, Bean, etc.
