The ecosystem is a term that is used to describe the collective interaction of organisms with their environment. In other words, an ecosystem describes the entities and the elements, such as the various animals, plants, microbes, non-living things etc and their interaction with each other.
Scientists have classified ecosystems into 3 variants, or biomes. They are terrestrial ecosystems, oceanic ecosystem and freshwater ecosystem. As the name suggests, each ecosystem predominantly exists on the land, ocean and freshwater respectively.
