CBSE Rules For Class 9 Promotion

The schools affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education follow the complete guidelines of CBSE, which include the syllabus, exam pattern, curriculum and promotion rules. The rules for Class 9 promotions according to CBSE are given below.

As per the new CBSE guidelines, the students of Class 9 have to score a minimum of 25% marks in the submissive assessments (SA) to be eligible for promotion to Class 10. Apart from the 25% marks, the students also need to maintain a minimum attendance. In case a student fails to sit for the exam due to any health problem has to appear for the exam in a stipulated amount of time.

It should be noted that the students failing to obtain the required score will be allowed one subsequent attempt; failing again would have to repeat the same class, and the promotion would be halted.
